My Story
"As a young adult, I struggled with the weight of generational trauma and a vast number of limiting beliefs. Being a Muslim Middle Eastern woman living in a western environment presented an array of unique experiences and internal challenges. I understood that life was meant to be a journey of beauty, trials, and rewards. However, for me, my life experiences were often compromised by fear, doubt, chaos, disappointments, sadness, and hardships. I found myself entangled in a relentless cycle of narratives steeped in suffering and letdowns.
Having endured years of low self-esteem, self-doubt, fear, and confusion, I longed to break free from the struggle and the pain that had influenced my life choices. I turned to western medicine, attending monthly psychiatric appointments, engaging in weekly psychotherapy sessions, and following a daily medication regimen.
As my overall well-being improved, I felt an increasing sense of excitement and determination to lessen my dependency on medication and therapy, driven by the belief that I was well. However, my psychiatrist was adamant about maintaining a lifelong prescription, emphasizing that a significant portion of my perceived progress was due to the medication's influence. He stressed the importance of accepting medication as a lifelong, essential component of my ongoing progress.
Refusing to accept my doctor's prognosis, I became determined to find a lasting solution, one free of medication. So, I decided to embark on a journey to find a better way to live, be and feel. To find a way to reclaim my life. I immersed myself in a quest for alternatives, reading books, experimenting with different therapies, and enrolling in self-development courses. This journey led me to discover transformative experiences that were life changing for me, so life changing that I was inspired and propelled to equip myself with the knowledge and skills to support others.
Now with over a decade of seeking skillful knowledge, I've obtained top certifications in various modalities including Marisa Peer's Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) & Coaching (RTC), Emotional Freedom Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Somatic Healing, 5 PATH Hypnosis, 7th Path Self-Hypnosis, Mental Health First Aid and I recently became a Peer Resource Specialist.
